For an employee appreciation day, Johnson & Johnson treated 95 staffers to a daylong retreat and game-filled party at the Glasshouses in the Chelsea Arts Tower.

 Decorated with modern white lounge furniture, cocktail chairs and tables, birch trees in clear cylindrical vases, and arrangements of blue and white hydrangeas, the 21st floor symbolized the sky side of the design concept. On this level, attendees partook in massages from the spa, inhaled oxygen from the oxygen bar, and snacked on the fare provided at three food stations. For entertainment, there was a floating magician, a tarot card reader, and a sketch artist. Browns and green filled the 14th floor for the earth theme, including more birch trees, this time in wooden planters surrounded by tall grasses and other leafy greens. Essentially a game room, the space featured a blackjack table, Nintendo Wii, a foosball table, a football-throwing arcade game, and simulators for Nascar-style racing, a roller coaster, and hang gliding. — Anna Sekula |
